Contract approved by 70% of voting members

After presenting a proposed contract for ratification, GEOC members have voted to accept the deal negotiated by the GEOC and Wayne State Bargaining Teams.

The new contract will come into effect at the start of the Fall 2025 semester. The contract applies to Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Student Assistants for the next three academic years (2025/26, 2026/27, 2027/28).

The contract includes major wins that GEOC has been working towards for several years, including expanded paid leave, better protections for international students, and the elimination of the pay gay between physical and social sciences employees.

GEOC would like to thank all of the grad workers and community members who attended rallies, signed letters, and showed their support for GEOC during our fight for a fairer contract.
